    Any health care staff involved in the care of patients with, or at risk of acute kidney injury (AKI) are invited to this free open study day in the Undergraduate Lecture Theatre, Barnes Building at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust.
    The day will start at 9.30am through to 4.00pm and speakers will include a patient, GP, specialist nurse, clinical pharmacist, consultant chemical pathologist and A&E nurse, and will be led by a specialist registrar in renal medicine. Sessions will include an introduction to AKI, sick day rules, medicines review and biochemical markers, as well as a patient’s perspective on AKI and assessment, recognition and management. You probably can’t afford to miss this free event.
    If you’d like to attend just turn up to register on the day from 9.00 onwards. Lunch is not provided but there are a number of places to get some.

    Thank you all who came to our AKI study day

    Had some excellent feedback and there will definitely be another study day in the early part of 2015

    Good mix of health care professionals including HCAs, nurses, ANPs, pharmacists, medical students and doctors at study day

    The ward based scenario sessions and the launch of the national AKI scoring algorithm on our electronic patient records has furthered the important quality improvement work around AKI in our trust
