More than a number in a little red book…

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust launched STOP AKI on 11 April. Andy Lewington and colleagues at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust presented to medics and nursing staff their improvement work called ‘STOP AKI’. The aim of the event was to raise awareness of AKI within the organisation – how it can be better prevented, treated and managed. The team is now rolling out the programme across all wards.

A film of all presentations is available on You Tube here.

Andy who ran the event is co-chair of the Risk workstream for Think Kidneys AKI programme and other speakers included Michael Wise and Nick Selby from Think Kidneys and Mike Bosomworth from the Trust and Think Kidneys. Also involved giving presentations on the day were a consultant cardiologist and cardiothoracic surgeon as well as the CEO, Julian Hartley who introduced the event.
