Think Kidneys is pleased to be supporting the Royal College of Nursing’s Nursing Essentials 2016/17 pocket guide for trainee nurses

The guides are used at recruitment events at universities across the country and are pocket sized, attractive and contain vital clinical information for nurses in a handy format. This latest version of the guide includes information about Acute Kidney Injury – a definition, causes and risk factors, how to prevent AKI, the classification of stages and how to respond. The AKI information also includes links to the Think Kidneys website and NICE guidance.

Karen Thomas, Head of Programmes for Think Kidneys

“I’m really delighted to have been involved in the development of the pocket guide for nurses on behalf of the Think Kidneys AKI programme. We worked with the Royal College of Nursing on the content and we are very keen to ensure junior nurses know about AK. Nurses are instrumental in preventing and recognising AKI in their patients, and after all, they are the professionals of the future.”
