Think Kidneys and Royal College of General Practitioners Launch AKI E-Learning Module

Following production of resources for general practice to raise awareness and skills in managing AKI warning stage test results, we have worked with the RCGP to develop a new online AKI module.

The accredited module, which takes around 30 minutes to complete, considers that over half of incidences of AKI begin in the community and describes which patients are at greater risk of AKI, how to identify them, how to detect AKI and initiate appropriate actions.

Richard Fluck, Think Kidneys Chair – “We are very pleased to have worked with the RCGP to develop this new learning module. It fully complements the resources we have developed for colleagues in primary care and we hope take up is widespread. So many patients with long term conditions and co-morbidities are cared for by their GP, it’s important AKI is recognised as a risk for many and increased awareness will help detection and improved outcomes for patients”.
