Chris Laing

Chris Laing is a Consultant nephrologist at Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust and University College Hospitals, London. He trained in nephrology, internal medicine and critical care. Chris is lead for the London AKI Network (London SCN) and co-chair of the education workstream for the national acute kidney injury national.

Chris was previously a member of the NICE Acute Kidney Injury guideline development group and co-founded the Acute Kidney Injury Academy. He is currently Associate Medical Director for Patient Safety for the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust.

We asked Chris who he’d like to have dinner with – past or present and this was his response – “George Orwell. I’d value his insights. Roger Waters from Pink Floyd would be a very close second (highly opinionated, talented and funny). I’m married but if I was single there is a whole other list….” That might just be more information than we need!
