The TP-CKD programme was underpinned by the values of co-production, from the programme board level right through to renal unit level and the partnership between patients and their healthcare professionals.
This way of working brings a wealth of knowledge and information, however it is also a new concept that for many can pose challenges along the way on many different levels.
This article describes how the concept of co-production was put into practice throughout the TP-CKD programme and the key learning that was gained throughout this experience.
We hope this provides others with further insight and tools to enable co-production, as a way of working, to be adopted by quality improvement and change programmes across the healthcare community.
