The KQuIP/UK Renal Registry (UKRR) West Midlands Regional day brought together the West Midlands renal community to learn from the UKRR data, and share best practice within the community. The day was led by Clara Day (Regional Lead) and Graham Lipkin (KQuIP Chair) and introduced data sources such as UKRR, NHS England, NHSBT, and UHB Transplant to illustrate the following:
- There are plenty of current good data sets available for QI purposes for the West Midlands region
- It is important to ensure measurements are relevant to improve QI
- There is no national target driving Home Therapies, but we know we need to increase overall to improve quality of care
- We should not excuse our performance because of unit or regional demographics such as population ethnicity, age or deprivation; we should use this information to make sure our services fit the needs of our populations
